Video settings (tabs, save, and embed)

Every AtomicPlayer video opens in an editor where settings and metrics live together. Use settings to control how the video renders, what domains can load it, and which engagement features are written into the embed.

Available controls can vary by video type, plan, and rollout. Most videos share the same core settings, while some assets may show additional engagement controls such as Magic Autoplay timing or Mini Hook.

Open settings

  1. Go to AtomicPlayer or Videos.
  2. Open the video you want to edit.
  3. Use the settings tab for configuration.
  4. Use the metrics tab for reporting when you need performance data.

Video metadata

  • Name: Shown in video lists and used to identify the asset. Some save paths validate that a name exists.
  • Language: Drives localized player/helper copy where supported.
  • Start time: Starts playback from a configured point when saved into the embed.

Domains and security

Authorized domains control where videos can be embedded. The domain modal can pull options from current sites, old sites, and external domains, then save the resulting referrer list.

  • Use Allow all origins only when you intentionally want the video embeddable from any domain.
  • If Allow all origins is off, at least one valid domain is required.
  • Invalid domains or an empty list trigger an allowed-origins error.
  • External marketing sites must be authorized before the player can load reliably there.

Layout and chrome

  • Video size: Responsive uses fluid sizing; fixed mode writes width and height attributes. Fixed mode cannot be saved with empty dimensions.
  • Orientation: Horizontal or vertical presentation.
  • Primary color: Player accent color.
  • Preload: Lets the browser/player prepare media before play.
  • Show controls: Shows or hides player controls.
  • Allow pause: Writes the pause permission into the embed.
  • Autoplay and mute: Turning autoplay on also turns mute on. This helps with browser autoplay rules.
  • Loop: Replays the video when enabled.
  • Playback speed: Saves a non-default playback rate when selected.

Engagement toggles

  • Smart Progress: Adds smart progress behavior to the embed. See Smart Progress.
  • Magic Resume: Adds the resume-play attribute so returning viewers can continue. See Resume play.
  • Magic Live Streaming: Adds a fake-viewer count when enabled. Use carefully where compliance or ad review matters.
  • Magic Autoplay: Uses the standard Atomicat prompt or a custom image/GIF. See Magic Autoplay.
  • Mini Hook: Available for supported videos when the control appears in the settings panel. See Mini Hook.

Thumbnails and overlays

Configure initial thumbnail, pause thumbnail, exit thumbnail, and Magic Autoplay artwork from the same settings area. Upload and removal actions save media references that must be reflected in the published embed or page.

Save editions

Save editions saves the player configuration bundle: size, orientation, color, preload, controls, pause, autoplay, mute, loop, Smart Progress, Magic Resume, Magic Live Streaming, playback speed, start time, and related options.

On success, Atomicat tells you to update the embed code on your pages. Treat that as a workflow step, not just a notice.

Copy embed

Copy embed places the latest hosted snippet on your clipboard. Use it for external sites. For normal Atomicat pages, select the video through the builder's Video element and publish the page.

Page Builder note β€” delay

Inside the Page Builder, AtomicPlayer settings combine with page-level video behavior. If you use delayed playback or scroll-into-view behavior, republish the page and test the final visitor path. Avoid giving multiple videos competing autoplay/delay behavior on the same page.

Troubleshooting

  • If fixed sizing will not save, fill both width and height or switch back to responsive.
  • If an external page shows an authorization error, open domain authorization and save the correct domain.
  • If autoplay fails with sound, test muted autoplay and Magic Autoplay.
  • If a change does not appear, republish Atomicat pages or replace external embed HTML.
  • If fake viewer or simulated live copy is used, review legal, ad-platform, and market-specific compliance.

Frequently asked questions

I saved but nothing changed on the site

Copy fresh embed code or republish the Atomicat page so the new attributes reach visitors. CDN or browser cache can delay updates by a few minutes.

Why did autoplay turn mute on?

Browsers often block autoplay with sound. AtomicPlayer pairs autoplay with mute so the embed has a better chance of starting automatically.

Should I use Allow all origins?

Only when you intentionally accept embedding from any domain. For tighter control, add the specific domains that host your pages.

Why is Mini Hook missing?

Mini Hook is shown only for supported videos and account configurations. If you do not see it, use the controls available on that asset or contact support before planning a campaign around Mini Hook.
