Page delay
The Delay tab in Page settings controls timed reveals for delayed sections and optional automatic scrolling after the delay. It is commonly used on VSL pages where a button, offer block, order section, or bonus section should appear after a specific moment.
Delay is stored in the page's delay settings and is also shown in Page Summary.
Fields
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Delay time | Time before delayed content appears. The saved format must be HH:MM:SS, for example 00:01:56. The input strips characters other than numbers and :. |
| Scroll to an element or section after page delay | Enables a text field for the destination element or section ID. When the delay completes, Atomicat can scroll the visitor to that target. |
| Sync with video | When supported video elements exist, ties the delay to a selected video instead of only page load timing. |
| Select video to delay | Appears when video sync is active and videos are available. The dropdown labels videos by order and player, such as 1. youtube. |
Sync is available only when the page has a video element whose player is not other. When a delayed video is selected, Atomicat marks that video as delayed and removes the delayed marker from the other videos.
Recommended workflow
- Add or confirm the sections that should be delayed.
- Open Page settings > Delay.
- Enter Delay time in
HH:MM:SS. - If the reveal should follow a video moment, enable Sync with video and select the correct video.
- If the page should jump to the offer or next step, enable Scroll to an element or section after page delay and enter the destination ID.
- Click Save editions, then save the page.
- Preview the delayed state and test the published URL.
Validation rules
- If a delay time is provided, it must match exactly
HH:MM:SS. - Seconds and minutes must be from
00to59. - Hours must be zero or greater.
- If Sync with video is on and sync is allowed for the page, delay time is required.
- If a scroll target is entered, delay time is required.
- If the scroll toggle is turned off, Atomicat clears the stored scroll target.
Caveats
- The time field accepts typing such as numbers and colons, but save validation is stricter. Use
00:00:30, not30or0:30. - Sync with video is not shown for every page. It depends on the video elements available in the current page.
- Video sync is based on the selected builder video element. If you duplicate, delete, or replace videos after configuring delay, revisit the Delay tab.
- Scroll-to-ID depends on the destination ID existing on the page. If the ID is wrong or duplicated, scroll behavior can feel broken even though the setting saved.
- Delayed reveals can feel abrupt on small screens. Test mobile because auto-scroll may land at a different visual point than desktop.
Testing notes
- Use preview to check the before-delay and after-delay states when available.
- Test the page from a fresh load, not only after editing in the builder, because delay timers depend on load or video playback state.
- For video sync, play the selected video past the delay time and confirm the intended sections appear.
- For scroll-to-ID, confirm the page scrolls to the correct section on desktop and mobile.
- After publishing, test the live URL with cache cleared or in a private window if timing appears inconsistent.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Atomicat reject my delay time?
The saved value must be exactly HH:MM:SS. Use two digits for hours, minutes, and seconds, such as 00:03:15. Minutes and seconds cannot be 60 or higher.
Why do I not see Sync with video?
Sync appears only when the page has a supported video element. Videos with player type other do not make sync available.
What ID should I enter for scroll after delay?
Enter the exact section or element ID you want the page to scroll to after the delay. If you rename or remove that target later, update the Delay tab before publishing.
Can I configure delay without a video?
Yes. Leave Sync with video off and use Delay time as a page-load timer. Video sync is only needed when the reveal should follow a video playback moment.
